The guide will pick you up at your hotel in Bayahibe / Dominicus or Juan Dolio / Boca Chica with a comfortable and air-conditioned vehicle. It is with this same transportation that you will do the tour to discover the first city of the American continent.
The first planned stop is at the entrance of the capital, at an open-air cave called "los 3 ojos". It is an underground water table that, eroding the rock over centuries, has caused a part of the terrain to collapse, exposing fresh and crystalline water sources. This unusual site in a capital city of 5 million inhabitants has been declared a national park.
You will then head towards the colonial zone, not forgetting to make a photo stop at "Faro a Colón" and the presidential palace. Once in the colonial zone, listed as UNESCO World Heritage Site, you will visit Notre Dame de l'Incarnation Cathedral which is the first building of its kind built in early 16th century on American continent.
Lunch will be served at a small typical restaurant in the colonial zone where you'll have an opportunity to enjoy Dominican cuisine! It consists of simple dishes usually made with chicken stew accompanied by rice and red beans.
In the afternoon, you'll see The National Pantheon with its guards who don't move an inch. You'll also have free time to wander around narrow streets of old town and possibly take advantage of it to buy some souvenirs. These historically rich neighborhoods are great opportunities for your guide to talk about his country, culture and past. So feel free to ask questions; he'll be delighted to answer them.
The departure will be from your hotel, whether you are staying in Bayahibe, Dominicus, La Romana, Gran Bahia Principe La Romana Hotel, Juan Dolio or Boca Chica.
Once the reservation is made, we will send you all the information regarding the time and meeting point.
