Departure will take place from your hotel in Bayahibe, Dominicus, Punta Cana, Bavaro or Uvero Alto with a comfortable air-conditioned vehicle.

You will travel through part of the Dominican countryside towards Miches, the departure point for the whale watching excursion.

Upon arrival at the dock, breakfast will be served before boarding the boat.

🐋 Humpback whale watching

You will then board a suitable boat to observe the famous humpback whales in Samana Bay.

Depending on weather conditions and whale activity, the time spent at sea usually varies between 2 and 3.5 hours in order to maximize whale sightings.

🍽️ Dominican lunch

Back in Miches, a typical Dominican lunch will be served in a small local restaurant.

The afternoon continues with the discovery of Montana Redonda, one of the most spectacular panoramic viewpoints in the Dominican Republic.

You will reach the summit aboard an off-road truck and enjoy breathtaking views over the coastline, mountains and lagoons.

You will have time to enjoy the famous giant swings overlooking the landscape, perfect for incredible souvenir pictures.

🚐 Return to your hotel

After this unforgettable day filled with nature and emotions, return transportation to your hotel is planned in the late afternoon.

1. Can we see whales on every excursion?
Yes, during whale season sightings are very frequent. However, whales remain wild animals and their behavior can vary from day to day.

2. Are there many waves in Samana Bay?
The sea can sometimes be rough in Samana Bay. This excursion is therefore not ideal for people very sensitive to seasickness.

3. Is this excursion suitable for children?
We do not recommend it for babies and very young children due to the time spent on the boat and sea conditions.

4. Is transportation from Punta Cana included?
Yes, transportation from Punta Cana, Bavaro and Uvero Alto is included.

5. During which months can we see the whales?
The whale season usually takes place between January 20th and March 30th depending on the yearly migration.
