A DAY OF SAFARI IN BUGGY:

Ready for some thrills? You are the driver of your own buggy, let's go! Discover the Dominican colors: sugar cane, a typical village, and the Chavon river. Come and have fun driving your buggy or quad to explore the deep hinterland. Get ready to get dirty and have a good laugh! We will end this fabulous day with a ride on the river aboard a platform boat.

THE ITINERARY:

Departure to the ranch located in the small village called Benerito, aboard a safari truck, about 15 minutes from Bayahibe.

After some explanations on safety rules, it's time for adventure! First off, you will cross sugar cane fields to make a stop at the weighing station where the guide will give you information on sugar industry. You'll have a chance to taste some sugar cane before continuing with the vehicles.

Then we'll pass through a small typical village called "Batey", where mostly Haitian sugarcane workers live. A break is needed! It's time for a swim in the river before discovering various tropical species plantation. At an inhabitant's house by the river bank, you'll taste local products such as cassava and plantain banana among others...

One last crossing of lands and then we head towards where lunch will be served by the riverside in the jungle. On our menu: traditional Dominican food served with panoramic views of lush nature.

After lunch, we head towards platform boat for a descent downriver to admire closely beautiful landscapes. We end up swimming in river with access to rope for fun jumping like Tarzan!

PICKUP:

Departure from your hotel whether you are in Bayahibe/Dominicus, Punta Cana/Bavaro or Juan Dolio/Boca Chica. At the time of booking, we will send you a confirmation with the meeting time and location.

IMPORTANT:

Return to Bayahibe hotels planned around 4:30 pm and Punta Cana/Bavaro and Juan Dolio/Boca Chica around 5:30-6:00 pm.

Can this excursion be done by people with back problems?

The buggies have good shock absorbers, however we would like to specify that we do not accept pregnant women as well as people with serious back problems.

Is it better to wear sneakers or flip flops for that tour?

It depends on your ability to drive with flip flops, but since the buggies are automatic it's not very complicated. If you decide to wear sneakers, that's fine too except that you risk damaging them because the soil is red and can stain.

What is provided during this excursion?

For this exclusive excursion, we provide you with protective glasses and plastic bags to protect your personal belongings as well as helmets.

We recommend that you bring scarves to protect your face from dust and mud.

Do we need to bring swimsuits?

Yes, absolutely, for swimming in the river. It's best to wear your swimsuit under your clothes from the morning.

Is there a photographer during the excursion?

Yes, there is a photographer to capture your wonderful moments. The price depends on the number of people but it's around $40 for a couple.
