If you're passing by La Romana port on a Mein Schiff cruise and want to explore the most beautiful underwater landscapes of the area, we offer this fantastic excursion to Catalina Island. This paradise island is much less visited as it is not as widely mentioned on forums and social networks. However, if you are a fan of snorkeling and want to visit a wild and pristine island, we highly recommend this adventure. As a bonus, on the way back, we will sail on the Chavon River to admire the lush green landscapes of the tropical forest.
A transport will be waiting for you at the taxi stand, at the exit of the cruise port, where all participants from the same boat as yours will gather. The driver will take you to our office in Bayahibe, the starting point of the excursion.
On the way to Catalina Island, which is also an integral part of the Cotubanama National Park.
Our first stop will be "the wall," a snorkeling site about 25 feet deep. No worries, an experienced team will be there to guide your family, allowing everyone to appreciate the tropical fishes, even beginners! Thrill-seekers can venture out to explore the most spectacular underwater relief in the region.
We will then head to a second snorkeling stop near Catalina Beach, "the Aquarium," at about 10 feet deep. Again, snorkeling is accessible to the whole family. And for the more daring, you will even have the opportunity to dive from the boat!
Finally, the well-deserved moment of meals and relaxation! On Catalina Beach, you will have about 2 hours to relax, sunbathe, swim, and for those who want more, do more snorkeling.
Then, we will board the boat and set course for a completely different landscape... You have probably heard of the Chavon River? You will be impressed by the beautiful sceneries where have been shot scenes of moovies as Rambo II, Anaconda and Apocalypse Now.
Lush, calm, and tranquility will be the order of that moment of the day.
Finally, we will conclude with a return along the coast, where you can catch a glimpse of the villas of the multimillionaires of Casa de Campo, to arrive in Bayahibe where your transport will be waiting to take you back to the port of La Romana.
A driver will be waiting for you at the taxi stand, at the exit of the La Romana cruise port at 8:00 am. He will ensure that all participants from the same Mein Schiff cruise ship are present, using a list that we will provide him.
For the return, the driver will wait for you at the Bayahibe port to take you back to the La Romana port around 6:00 pm. The departure of your Mein Schiff cruise ship is scheduled for 10:00 pm.
The tour boat is scheduled to depart around 9:00 am and return by approximately 5:00 pm. Small group experience with a maximum of 30 people on board.
