EXCURSION TO SAONA ISLAND FOR NORWEGIAN SKY CRUISE SHIP PASSENGERS DEPARTING FROM LA ROMANA PORT:

Get ready for an unforgettable adventure on Saona Island! Join us for a laid-back, crowd-free experience where you’ll explore the underwater wonders around Catuano, relax on the soft white sands of Playa Dichosa, and check out the amazing natural pool filled with giant starfish.

THE ITINERARY:

A transport will be waiting for you at the taxi stand outside the cruise port, where all participants from your boat will meet. The driver will take you to our office in Bayahibe, the starting point of the excursion.

In Bayahibe, we’ll give you a warm welcome before you board our speedboat. On the way to Cotubanama National Park, we’ll stop at El Peñon, where our English-speaking guide will share stories about this cliff and the Taíno people, the island’s first inhabitants. Then, we’ll head to the mangroves, a unique forest where mangrove trees grow right in the saltwater.

Our first stop on Saona Island will be Catuano Beach. You’ll have about 20 minutes to snorkel in this beautiful spot or just relax and soak up the sun, whichever you prefer.

After these memorable moments, we’ll get back on the boat and head to Playa Dichosa, where a delicious Dominican lunch will be waiting for you. After the meal, grab your hat and sunscreen for a swim in Saona’s turquoise waters. You’ll have about an hour to enjoy the beach, take amazing photos, or relax by the shore.

Finally, we’ll end on a high note with a visit to the famous natural pool, where you can see large starfish (please don’t touch them). It’s also a perfect time to enjoy a drink in the Caribbean’s crystal-clear waters—a truly magical, unforgettable experience.

We’ll return to the port in Bayahibe with wonderful memories, where your ride will be ready to take you back to the port of La Romana.

PICK UP:

A driver will be waiting for you at the taxi stand, located at the exit of the La Romana cruise port at 8:00 am. The driver will ensure that all participants from the same Norwegian Sky cruise ship are present, using a list that we will provide.

For the return trip, the driver will wait for you directly at the Bayahibe port to save time. He will be there precisely at 1:30 pm so that you can be back at the La Romana port by 2:00 pm at the latest. The departure of your Norwegian Sky cruise ship is scheduled for 3:00pm.

IMPORTANT:

Small committee guaranteed: maximum 26 people on board.

- When to book? We are a small agency that organizes excursions in small groups. To accommodate your request, it is best to book as early as possible.
However, if there are still spots available, we can also accept last-minute bookings.

- Voucher: Electronic. Presenting it on your phone will be enough.

- Free cancellation: For this excursion, we require a deposit of $100 USD per family. In the event of a cancellation due to reasons beyond your control (change in cruise ship itinerary, delay, illness, etc.), the full amount paid will be refunded. If you have made a prepayment, we will also reimburse you 100%.

We request a small deposit to secure your spots as we are an agency organizing small-group excursions, and we cannot afford last-minute cancellations because people have changed their minds, especially when we may have turned away participants due to reaching full capacity.

FAQ:

Maximum number of people on the boat?

The excursions organized by Dominican Attitude are always in small groups. For that tour, the maximum is 26 people.

Is the snorkeling gear included?

Yes, masks and snorkels are included for this excursion. Fins are not provided since there's not enough room on the boat to take fins for all the participants. If you have your own fins, you can bring them.

Is it guaranteed that we will be back at the port of La Romana on time?

Yes, of course. We have been organizing excursions for cruise ships for many years, and we take all necessary precautions to respond immediately to any unforeseen circumstances. A replacement boat is available immediately in case of a breakdown, additional transportation, etc. The entire team at Dominican Attitude is familiar with the special guidelines put in place for excursions with cruise ship passengers.

Does the guide speak English?

Yes, the guides from Dominican Attitude speak fluently French, Spanish and English.

Should the lobster be reserved in advance?

Yes, the lobster needs to be reserved in advance as they will be caught in the morning (lobster not available from March 1st to June 31st due to breeding season).

Will there only be passengers from the cruise ship Norwegian Sky on the excursion?

The majority of participants will indeed be passengers from the same cruise ship as you. It's possible that we may need to add other individuals from hotels to meet the minimum number of participants. In any case, this will primarily be an activity specially organized for passengers of the Norwegian Sky Cruise Ship.
