Docking at the port of La Romana in the Dominican Republic and dreaming of a paradise escape? Embark on an unforgettable day trip to Catalina Island with Dominican Attitude. Far from the standard tourist routes offered by cruise lines, this small-group excursion takes you to a pristine beach with turquoise waters, perfect for swimming and snorkeling. Enjoy an exclusive moment of relaxation in a natural, authentic setting, with a friendly atmosphere—far from the crowds.

THE ITINERARY:

A transfer will be waiting for you at the taxi kiosk just outside the La Romana cruise port, where you'll meet other participants from your ship. Your driver will take you to our office in Bayahibe, the starting point of this beautiful day at sea.

You’ll then board our comfortable boat and head towards the stunning Catalina Island. Before reaching the beach, two snorkeling stops await you at the most beautiful reef sites in the area:

"The Wall", an impressive underwater cliff plunging into the depths, perfect for observing spectacular reef formations and marine life.
"The Aquarium", a shallow, colorful site ideal for spotting corals, tropical fish, and other underwater wonders—suitable for all levels.

After these two magical snorkel sessions, we’ll head to Catalina’s beach. Relax on a sun lounger under the shade of palm trees, enjoy the turquoise waters, or sip on a refreshing drink.

A delicious Dominican lunch will be served right on the beach: barbecue grills, local sides, and tropical fruits—served in a warm and friendly atmosphere.

In the afternoon, take some free time to swim, snorkel straight from the shore, or simply unwind on a lounger.

To end the day in style, our boat will navigate along the beautiful Chavón River on the way back. Let yourself be enchanted by the lush landscapes of this iconic river, a natural set for many Hollywood films.

Return to Bayahibe in the late afternoon, followed by a transfer back to the La Romana cruise port, scheduled around 5:00 PM—just in time to rejoin your cruise, filled with unforgettable memories.

PICK UP:

A driver will be waiting for you at the taxi stand, at the exit of the La Romana cruise port at 8:00 am. He will ensure that all participants from the same cruise ship, MEIN SCHIFF, are present, using a list that we will provide him.

For the return, the driver will wait for you at the port of Bayahibe at around 17:00, to take you back. The departure of your MEIN SCHIFF cruise ship is scheduled for 22:00.

- When to book? We are a small agency that organizes excursions in small groups. To accommodate your request, it is best to book as early as possible.
However, if there are still spots available, we can also accept last-minute bookings.

- Voucher: Electronic. Presenting it on your phone will be enough.

- Free cancellation: For this excursion, we require a deposit of $100 USD per family. In the event of a cancellation due to reasons beyond your control (change in cruise ship itinerary, delay, illness, etc.), the full amount paid will be refunded. If you have made a prepayment, we will also reimburse you 100%.

We request a small deposit to secure your spots as we are an agency organizing small-group excursions, and we cannot afford last-minute cancellations because people have changed their minds, especially when we may have turned away participants due to reaching full capacity.

Maximum number of people on the boat?

The excursions organized by Dominican Attitude are always in small groups. For that tour, the maximum is 30 people.

Is the snorkeling gear included?

Yes, fins, masks and snorkels are included.

Is it guaranteed that we will be back at the port of La Romana on time?

Yes, of course. We have been organizing excursions for cruise ships for many years, and we take all necessary precautions to respond immediately to any unforeseen circumstances. A replacement boat is available immediately in case of a breakdown, additional transportation, etc. The entire team at Dominican Attitude is familiar with the special guidelines put in place for excursions with cruise ship passengers.

Does the guide speak English?

Yes, the guides from Dominican Attitude speak fluently French, Spanish and English.

Is there a photographer during the excursion?

Yes, there is a photographer to capture your wonderful moments. The price will depend on the number of people, but it's about 40$ for a couple.

Will there only be passengers from the cruise ship Mein Schiff on the excursion?

The majority of participants will indeed be passengers from the same cruise ship as you. It's possible that we may need to add other individuals from hotels to meet the minimum number of participants. In any case, this will primarily be an activity specially organized for passengers of the Mein Schiff cruise ship.
